Australian country music legend Troy Cassar-Daley has blasted Qantas on social media, alleging that the airline lost his road case for three days, and when he eventually received it, it was damaged.
Road (or flight) cases are designed to be durable and protect one’s equipment. They also make transporting music gear to and from the stage much smoother.
Not only did Cassar-Daley claim that his road case was damaged, but Qantas also sent him a “refusal to repair” letter. An image of the damage is below.
“Hey Qantas,
“Many thanks for losing our bags after a long travel day from Hay-Griffith-Sydney-Brisbane,” Cassar-Daley wrote in a message to the airline on social media yesterday (6 April).
He continued, “My sound man waited two hours for the bags to arrive on another flight, so I didn't see my work road case for 4 days.

“I open it up, it's damaged, and you say if it's not reported in 3 days, you wipe your hands off it. These are the tools of our trade, and your care factor is zero.”
“Thanks so much, Qantas
“Troy CD
“Ps, don't be sorry. Be better!”
Cassar-Daley also shared the message he received from Qantas, which showed the airline apologising that the outcome couldn’t be more favourable.
The Lights On The Hill singer captioned the post, “Hey @qantas, Thanks for the damage to our road case and the lovely refusal to repair letter. Be better, not sorry.”
The Music has contacted Qantas for comment on the matter but hasn't received a response at the time of publication.
Earlier this year, Troy Cassar-Daley walked away as the big winner of the Golden Guitar Awards, taking home five awards, including Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Alternative Country Album of the Year for his album Between The Fires.
Upon its release last May, Between The Fires debuted at #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and #2 on the overall ARIA Albums Chart.
“I’m completely blown away by this ARIA chart result and it wouldn’t happen without the groundswell of love from people like yourselves supporting Australian music,” Cassar-Daley wrote in an appreciative message on Instagram.
Last year, Cassar-Daley was a cover star on The Music—you can read that interview here.
