Rising Queensland country singer Mack Geiger has shared a beautiful tribute to his grandmother and his great-grandmother at a recent show.
In a video he posted on social media, the two special women in Geiger’s life sit in the front row, watching him perform. “Give it up for them, they’ve come all the way out here tonight,” he said, revealing that they “never get to see me and I love you so much.”
Then, he dedicated a sweet little ditty to his “Grammy and great nan in the front row.” In the song, Nothing Like Grandma, Geiger uses his commanding voice to sing, “She’s gonna love me no matter what/ I never feared I could mess it up/ There’s a lesson and a prayer in every wrinkle and grey hair.”
Other lyrics include feeling blessed by the Lord for his family, and, of course, “There ain’t nothing like grandma.”
As he says that last line, Geiger’s grandmother and great-grandmother are in tears, and he’s wiping his face, too. We’re not crying; you’re crying.

Geiger has been busy – and continues to have a thrilling year – after recently embarking on headline shows across Australia and performing at this year’s Gympie Music Muster. In October, he comes home again to perform at Strummingbird Festival.
In June, Geiger embarked on his debut US headline tour. For his inaugural dates across America, Geiger hosted sold-out shows, performed at CMA Fest, and received a standing ovation during his Grand Ole Opry debut.
A month later, Geiger unveiled his critically acclaimed, highly anticipated debut EP, Walk A Straight Line. The six-song collection, produced by Jared Adlam, showcased his impressive songwriting.
The EP is also having a major impact on the Australian country music scene. Geiger’s single, String By, became the first country song to reach the Top 10 of the ARIA Australian Singles Chart in five years and has surpassed 60 million global streams.
