DenvahRising Australian country singer Denvah has signed a record deal with EMI Music Australia, and her first release with the label is the uplifting new single, Better Weather.
The Gold Coast-based singer, managed by Melita Hodge and Andy Bryan at Six Boroughs Management, is having a breakout year and is expected to release her debut album in 2027.
Melita Hodge recently told The Music Network that Six Boroughs Management has always been drawn to artists “with a talent for storytelling, a unique voice” and musicianship that stands out from the crowd, believing that Denvah possesses all three key elements “in spades.”
Hodge added that the company then looks for “like-minded people to help you develop that talent.” For Denvah, that’s EMI Music Australia: “a label we’ve had a long association with.”
“We’re delighted to partner with them in the pursuit of breaking another talented Australian artist,” Hodge said.
EMI Music Australia Managing Director Mark Holland described Denvah as “an incredibly special artist” with “a genuine sense of who she is, what she wants to say, and the audience she wants to connect with.”
Holland concluded that the label believes Denvah has “the potential” to become an “important new voice” in the Australian country music scene.
She launches into her partnership with EMI by releasing Better Weather, the first taste of her forthcoming debut album.
Written by Denvah and produced by Jared Adlam (James Johnston, Mack Geiger, Morgan Evans) at Machine Lab Recording in Mount Tamborine, QLD, the heartfelt number tracks the unexpected moments that become the most memorable.
Better Weather was inspired by a rain-soaked first date. That moment, which could have ruined a romantic evening, becomes something inspiring when Denvah writes about it in her conversational writing style.
She explained, “I was only one date in and had already written a whole song. Just goes to show a girl can have a lot to say when it rains on a first date, and she’s a little bit smitten.”

This week, Denvah performs at BIGSOUND – following her appearance at the Gympie Music Muster last week. Next month, she appears at The Bend Classic festival in South Australia, followed by the Gold Coast’s Groundwater Country Music Festival.
Denvah’s 2024 single, Making Cups Of Tea, hit #1 on the Countrytown Charts and earned her the APRA AMCOS Professional Development Award (Country/Americana), the Queensland Music Award for Country, and a nod for New Talent of the Year at the Golden Guitar Awards.
