Emerging Queensland country musicians are being handed a golden opportunity: a chance to perform at Outback Sounds 2026 in Mount Isa. The festival organisers have just announced a competition to find one final artist to join an already incredible lineup, featuring Kaylee Bell, The Wolfe Brothers and many more.
The competition is open to regional, rural and remote Queensland artists. And the chosen lucky winner will perform alongside some of the country’s most celebrated acts, gaining exposure and experience that could be career changing.
“The QLD Music Trails are about connection between artists, audiences, and communities,” said Daryl Raven, CEO of QLD Music Trails. “By creating opportunities like this, we’re making sure emerging Queensland artists have access to real stages, real audiences, and experiences that can genuinely move their careers forward, particularly in regional and remote parts of the state.”
Artists are encouraged to get creative and rally their hometown communities. Social media plays a crucial role so posting, commenting, tagging @qldmusictrails and getting fans to support your entry can make all the difference!
