Post MaloneThe 2026 edition of the Strummingbird festival has undergone a line-up shift, with headliner Post Malone announcing the cancellation of his upcoming Australian trek.
First announced back in May, Strummingbird is set to hit up Ballarat, Newcastle, and the Sunshine Coast this October, with the likes of Bailey Zimmerman, Cooper Alan, Stella Lefty, and Dexter & The Moonrocks all having been detailed on its line-up.
However, while the main headliner of the event was Post Malone, organisers have been forced to make some changes due to Posty's announcement he will no longer be making it to the country this year, which also affected his October headline dates – planned for stadiums in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney.
In his place, Strummingbird have announced that Tyler Childers and Sam Barber in Australian exclusives, and James Johnston will be stepping in on various dates.
Childers will be performing at both the Newcastle and Sunshine Coast shows, while Barber will join the Ballarat line-up. Johnston will be appearing at all three shows.
Organisers have also recognised that “some fans may be disappointed by the news”, and are giving ticketholders an opportunity to request a refund in the wake of this news. Patrons are able to request a refund via their Moshtix account until 5pm AEST on Thursday, September 3rd.
Strummingbird held its first event back in 2025, with Jelly Roll and Shaboozey headlining its inaugural run of dates. It announced its return earlier this year, maintaining its Newcastle and Sunshine Coast shows, but swapping its trip to Perth for a new date in Ballarat.
Concerns were previously raised as to whether or not Bailey Zimmerman would be able to make his upcoming Australian tour, given his recent brush with the law and his announcement of a hiatus from touring, but his Strummingbird appearances remain intact.
