The Last Night singer directly addressed ticketholders of his One Night At A Time tour via a video message, per Taste Of Country, which you can watch below.
In the video, Wallen alluded to taking a break to prepare for another big year, which includes his sold-out Sand In My Boots music festival.
“I just wanted to say thank you personally,” Wallen said. “And give you an opportunity to have something cool at the same time. And let you know that I’m working. I’m taking a little bit of time for myself, but I’m working also.
“I can’t wait to get back out there and see y’all at some point next year.”
Taste Of Country notes additional concern among fans as Wallen never publicly acknowledged his winning the Entertainer of the Year award at the CMAs two weeks ago.
Perhaps Wallen isn’t swayed by big awards and needs some time to himself, as he noted. Perhaps he’s quiet as this week, he returns to court after allegedly throwing a chair from the roof of Eric Church’s bar, Chiefs, earlier this year.
In April, Wallen was arrested after he allegedly threw a chair from the roof of Chief’s. The chair landed on the floor just three feet from where Metro Police officers were standing, with Wallen receiving three class E felony charges of reckless endangerment and a misdemeanour charge of disorderly conduct.
The singer will appear in court this Thursday, 12 December, after being granted a continuance in his case in August.
A few weeks after the alleged incident, Wallen wrote on social media, “I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I'm not proud of my behavior [sic], and I accept responsibility.”
In a follow-up post, Wallen added, “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”
