Morgan WallenIn news that many fans have been waiting to hear, Morgan Wallen, who dominated the nominations with seven nods, has been crowned Entertainer of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards.
The awards were broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, 20 November, on ABC. This year, Lainey Wilson tried her hand at co-hosting the award show for the first time alongside Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning.
While Wallen won a CMA Award for New Artist of the Year in 2019, he hasn’t won an award at the CMAs since, despite his booming popularity. The most coveted award of the night, the Entertainer of the Year award, has previously gone to Lainey Wilson (2023), Luke Combs (2022 and 2021), Eric Church (2020), Garth Brooks, and others.
Morgan Wallen wasn’t the only big winner of this year’s CMA Awards. Chris Stapleton was named Male Artist of the Year for a fourth year running, Wilson received Female Artist of the Year for the third year in a row, Brooks & Dunn broke Brothers Osborne’s reign to win Vocal Duo of the Year, and Megan Moroney was named New Artist of the Year.
