After remotely collaborating with the legendary Dolly Parton on their song, Friends, The Wiggles finally met her in person.
The beloved Australian children’s music group were recently in Nashville, where they met Dolly Parton, who signed super fan and Red Wiggle Caterina Mete’s tattoo of the singer and greeted Mete’s daughters, one of whom is named after the Jolene singer.
In a video posted on The Wiggles’ social media profiles on Friday (27 June), Parton is seen shaking hands and hugging the group. They captioned the post:
When The Wiggles met Dolly Parton for the very first time 💖🦋
From growing up singing her songs, to actually singing with her, this was truly a dream come true. Meeting Dolly in Nashville felt like a big warm hug. Her kindness, joy, and sparkle are everything we imagined and more ✨
Dolly, you’re a legend, a light, and a friend for life 🌟
The Wiggles then shared a follow-up post with photos from the meeting and added:
A moment we’ll never forget! It was a dream to finally meet the one and only @DollyParton in person ✨
After collaborating remotely on our song ‘Friends!’, we were lucky enough to get to visit Dolly in Nashville.
Swipe to see Dolly meeting Caterina’s twin daughters, Gigi and Dolly, named after the legend herself 💕
(…and also Dolly autographing Caterina’s tattoo!)
Thank you, Dolly, for your kindness, your music, and your sparkle. We’ll treasure this day forever 👸🏼
