We already knew that Dolly Parton would feature on The Wiggles’ forthcoming country-inspired album, Wiggle Up, Giddy Up, but two of her songs have finally arrived.
Parton sings lead vocals on the new song Friends!, which she also wrote. The Wiggles released a second Dolly-influenced track, Counting 1 To 5, an educational interpolation of Dolly Parton’s classic 9 To 5. Both singles were released on Thursday (20 February).
Below are music videos for both tracks. You can also listen to the songs on streaming services.
A third single written by Parton and starring her on lead vocals, We Will Always Be Friends, can be heard in two weeks when Wiggle Up, Giddy Up is released (Friday, 7 March).
“Well, I just wiggled my way out into the Wiggles’ world,” Parton said of the new songs (via Billboard). “I had so much fun being a part of this project, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.”
Red Wiggle Caterina Mete, who has a tattoo inspired by the Jolene singer and named one of her twin daughters Dolly, said of working with her idol, “Getting to work with my absolute musical hero is beyond surreal. Dolly has inspired me in so many ways, and I know these songs will bring so much happiness to families everywhere.”

Blue Wiggle Anthony Field added, “Dolly’s music is pure magic. Getting to work with her on these songs is a dream come true. We can’t wait for families everywhere to sing along and share in the joy.”
In addition to Parton, Wiggle Up, Giddy Up features an abundance of international and Australian country music icons, such as Lainey Wilson, Dasha, Orville Peck, Morgan Evans, Jackson Dean, Kaylee Bell, MacKenzie Porter, Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins, Lucky Oceans, and even the late, great Slim Dusty.
The Wiggles kickstarted the album cycle with the title track starring Dasha. They went on to release Say The Dance, Boots ‘N’ All featuring Kaylee Bell earlier this month.
