Jon StevensSavannah Sounds is offering yet another ultimate escape to the heart of North Queensland with its return this May.
Held in the stunning town of Port Douglas, a blend of live music and entertainment in a picturesque setting is promised for the return of the festival. And today, punters can start planning with the unveiling of the program, which includes a day-by-day breakdown and set times.
The 2026 edition of Savannah Sounds, presented by the Douglas Shire Council and Newsport, is taking place from Friday, 22 May, to Sunday, 24 May, at Rex Smeal Park in Port Douglas. The event is part of the annual Port Douglas Carnivale weekend, and organisers revealed the highly anticipated line-up in December.
This year’s bill features rock icons Jon Stevens and Dragon, pop stars Vanessa Amorosi and Sneaky Sound System, plus country, roots, and Americana acts Austin Mackay, Sara Berki, Kingswood, The Hillbilly Goats, Taylor Sheridan, and others.

Savannah Sounds Festival Director James Dein said today’s announcement would provide punters the opportunity to plan their weekend and make the most of the music program when the event rolls around in May.
“Friday is a family-friendly night, with great music, food and one of the best spots in town to watch the fireworks over the water,” he said.

“Saturday is going to be huge with Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi and Kingswood, while Sunday rounds out the weekend with Dragon bringing the hits. It is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend and a Carnivale party not to be missed.”
Dein continued, “This is a destination event. The set times are designed so people can enjoy the town during the day and come together at Rex Smeal Park each afternoon and evening for the music.”

Lisa Scomazzon, Mayor of the Douglas Shire, said upon this year’s event announcement in December, “Having Savannah Sounds as part of the program brings an incredible boost to the overall event.
“Port Douglas has never hosted a music weekend of this scale, and it is fantastic to have an event curated by the same organisers behind the hugely successful Savannah in the Round. It adds real value to the region and gives people another strong reason to visit and stay.”
