Megan Moroney has responded to rumours that she’d died with a sense of humour.

On Sunday (20 September), when fans Googled the American country singer’s name, they came across a glitch that said she’d died on that very day. However, Moroney is alive and well.

Responding to the rumours, the Tennessee Orange hitmaker took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, “Contrary to popular belief I am alive ⭐️.”

After a fan replied, “LOL I’M DEAD,” Moroney wrote back, “I’m not 😀 (thankfully).” In a follow-up post, she tagged the Google account and wrote, “@Google ur wrong for that smh.”

At the time of publication, no Google representatives have addressed the false information that circulated over the weekend.

Megan Moroney is returning to Australia in May 2027, and she’s presenting her Cloud 9 Tour in arena venues. Due to phenomenal demand, an extra show has already been announced for the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

With the new show added, Moroney’s Cloud 9 Tour launches at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Saturday, 8 May. It continues at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena on Tuesday, 11 May, and concludes with two nights at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Friday, 14 May, and the just-added date of Saturday, 15 May.

“The Cloud 9 Tour is coming to Australia, and I think it will be just as magical as it has been in the US,” Moroney told Countrytown in a recent interview.

She added, “I’ve had the best time on this tour. The community and my fans have made these shows so special, and I have no doubt my Australian emo cowgirls and cowboys will be bringing that same energy.

“We are going to be bringing a lot of pink to Australia!”

Moroney returns to Australia after headline appearances at last year’s Ridin’ Hearts Festival and a Brisbane sideshow that sold out in minutes. She’s touring in support of her third album, Cloud 9, released in February of this year.

Upon its release, Cloud 9 debuted at #20 on the ARIA Albums Chart and #2 on the ARIA Country Albums Chart. Featuring the singles Beautiful Things, 6 Months Later, and Medicine, plus collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves, the album is another hit for Moroney.
