Next year’s Country Fest Queensland has just gotten even bigger, with acclaimed singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Jonah Kagen added to the line-up.
He joins fellow American star Sam Barber on the bill, alongside Australian talents such as Brad Cox, Lane Pittman, Hayley Jensen, The Dreggs, Tori Darke, Robbie Mortimer, and many others.
Country Fest Queensland returns to Cluden Park in Townsville on Saturday, 17 April. Tickets are available here.
Hailing from Savannah, Georgia, Kagen is known for blending raw, intricate guitar work with personal yet emotionally resonant lyrics. Inspired by the likes of Jason Isbell and Andy McKee, he hit #1 on US Alternative Radio with his breakout single, God Needs the Devil.
Kagen unveiled his debut album, Sunflowers and Leather, last year. He recently released his second album, Eternity of Anything, and took over the recording process by writing, producing, recording, engineering, and mixing the project himself.
Along with the announcement that he’s joined the Country Fest line-up, Kagen has announced his debut shows in New Zealand and additional dates in Australia. He’ll perform in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Fremantle, and Newcastle in April 2027 – head to the Frontier Touring website for more details.
Country Fest Queensland Festival representative Regan Anderson said of the latest addition to the line-up, “Securing Jonah Kagen for Country Fest Queensland is another exciting step forward for the festival.”
Anderson continued, “We’ve been working hard to build a line-up that brings world-class international talent to North Queensland, and having Jonah join Sam Barber in Townsville is something we’re incredibly proud of.
“Jonah is an exceptional artist with a rapidly growing international audience, and we believe his addition will further strengthen the festival’s appeal to country music fans across Australia.”
