Seaforth ProfileAfter holding an audition process to find his next bandmate, making Seaforth a duo once more, Mitch Thompson revealed that he has found his musical partner – and it’s a familiar face.
Two years after departing the group, Thompson’s former Seaforth partner, Tom Jordan, has returned, to the delight of fans.
The exciting news was confirmed in a video posted on Seaforth’s social media accounts today (6 November). In the humorous clip, Thompson watches the audition process play out, with singer after singer vying for his attention – Jordan Davis got close.
At the end of the video, though, it was clear that Tom Jordan is the one for Seaforth. The video, and the duo’s Instagram bio, now feature the caption: The boys are back. Check out the clip below.
“We never stopped being mates, and once we started making music again, it was clear the chemistry was still there. We’ve both grown and feel more aligned than ever about Seaforth’s future,” Thompson commented in a statement, per Holler.Country.
Jordan added, “It’s exciting to start a new chapter while building on everything we’ve created together. We’re having a lot of fun, making music we love, and can’t wait for everyone to hear what’s next.”
Since departing the group two years ago, Jordan has focused on songwriting and production. Meanwhile, Thompson kept the Seaforth name alive by sharing songs such as THERE SHE GOES and wasn’t gonna cry.
Jordan left Seaforth in October 2024. It was an amicable split, with Jordan admitting that his heart hadn’t been in Seaforth like it used to be, so it was time to leave.
“After some time away and much-needed conversations between us, Tom has decided to step away from Seaforth to focus on producing and writing music full-time,” the pair told fans on social media at the time.
They added, “Mitch will be continuing Seaforth by himself to ensure the story is far from over.”
Last April, Seaforth signed to ABC Music. “I’m so pumped to be working with ABC Music,” Thompson said. “It’s always been a goal of mine to release music back home and really build my story there.”
He continued, “Australia is where I grew up, and there’s no place like it – so getting to properly show up and give it the love and dedication it deserves, especially with such a great team behind me, means the world. This is the start of a new chapter after some big changes, and I couldn’t be more excited.”
