More Bailey Zimmerman More Bailey Zimmerman

Get ready for the song of the summer, because Bailey Zimmerman has teamed up with the current King of Country: Luke Combs.

Today, Zimmerman posted a video on social media, teasing a snippet of a new collaborative track with Luke Combs. The song, which Zimmerman says is called Backup Plan, seems to be a country-rock banger inspired by Jason Aldean.

Regarding the subject matter, Backup Plan is set to be an anthem of perseverance, of “getting back up” and trying again—always a worthwhile and emotionally resonant message.

The high-energy snippet promises to be a radio hit. Would you expect anything less from Zimmerman or Combs? No release date has been announced, but Zimmerman has said it’s “coming soon.”

Luke Combs is headlining this year’s edition of Stagecoach Festival on Sunday, 27 April (alongside Zach Bryan and Jelly Roll). Will Backup Plan be released before the festival, or could the pair debut the track live before a massive audience?

In November 2023, Zimmerman made his Australian debut at the inaugural Ridin’ Hearts music festival. Here are four things Countrytown learned about the singer ahead of that visit.

Meanwhile, in recent Luke Combs news, the singer recently revealed that he’s already written “forty to fifty” songs that could go on his upcoming sixth album.

“I’m at the point now, I’m about to go in the studio for the first session on cutting my next record,” he said. “So, I’m trying to cut probably, anywhere from, like, in a worst-case scenario, four or best-case, six… I would say right now, songs that are in serious contention to make the record, I mean, like, forty to fifty? You got to whittle it down…”

Earlier this year, Luke Combs broke records when he became the first-ever country music artist to headline stadiums in Australia. For the tour, he was joined by special guests Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Australia’s own Lane Pittman.
