Morgan EvansMorgan Evans has just unveiled the music video for his fan-favourite song, Land I Love, from his latest album, Steel Town.
As the song is Evans’ ode to Australia, with references to black cockatoos, red dirt, blue oceans, and Dreamtime, it’s only fitting that the accompanying music video pays tribute to the land he loves so dearly.
Evans explained on social media today, “After a show in Townsville, my old mate and I took the long way to Darwin... and it is a LONG way!”
He continued, “We shot these videos on our iPhones along the way trying to capture the energy of the journey, the characters we met, and the beauty of the great, wild, Aussie outback.
“This song felt like the perfect soundtrack. The song and the video are out now, hope it makes you wanna go on an adventure!

In March, Evans released Steel Town. With its title, the Novocastrian country singer paid tribute to his Newcastle childhood home.
The record marked his first in seven years – following on from 2018’s Things That We Drink To, which won the ARIA Award for Best Country Album in 2019. It reached #17 on the ARIA Albums Chart, as well as #3 on the Australian Country Albums Chart.
Steel Town followed Evans’ buzzed-about sets at events such as Howlin Festival and CMC Rocks, plus multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances. In 2024, he performed two sold-out shows at the Sydney Opera House, and went on to release the live record, Live at the Sydney Opera House.
Announcing the album last October, Evans said of its themes, “I had to get outta this town, I needed something real. Old mates, familiar places and salt water. I decided to reconnect with where I came from, who I was, who I wanna be. This record is a journey… and it all started with a beer back home.”
Earlier this year, Evans told Countrytown that crafting his new music was tied to a newfound connection with his earliest days in music.
“That all starts with me going back to my hometown and reconnecting with my roots – where I came from and who I used to be… and who I still want to be,” Evans explained. “It felt like the sky was falling down and the walls were caving in, but when I got back home, it was such a good, grounding thing.
“I’m sure it is for everyone when they go back to their hometown.”
He toured in support of the record earlier this year.
