“It’s been a long, sweet ride. It started 40 years ago this September... I’ve really lived the American dream for sure - so blessed”.

It’s officially last call for one of country music’s most legendary road warriors.

Alan Jackson has confirmed that his current run of shows will be his final tour, marking the end of an era for the genre. The emotional announcement came during a sold-out performance at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, where the icon paused mid-show to share the news fans have long anticipated.

“Y’all may have heard that I’m kinda winding down. In fact, this is my last road show,” he told the crowd, a moment met with a wave of cheers, applause, and more than a few tears.

“It really is time for ‘last call’ there are no more for the road,” Jackson said, officially capping off a touring legacy that’s taken him across the USA, through Canada, and as far as Australia, Brazil, and Europe. But there’s still one more big moment to come: a farewell show planned for Nashville in 2026.

The Milwaukee stop was part of his Last Call: One More for the Road tour, which kicked off in 2022 and has continued selling out shows across the country. “Y’all are gonna make me tear up, up here,” Jackson said onstage, clearly feeling the weight of the moment.

The night, described by OnMilwaukee.com as “steeped in nostalgia, gratitude, and the unmistakable sound of a man who’s been defining the genre for more than three decades,” was full of fan-favourite hits, unexpected deep cuts, and emotional crowd singalongs.

“This is the last one out on the road for me,” Jackson reiterated, though fans still have one final shot to see him live. “We’re planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime,” he said. “We just felt like we had to end it all where it all started, and that’s in Nashville, Tennessee - Music City - where country music lives. I gotta do the last one there.”

In addition to the music, the tour has also made a powerful impact offstage. Since going public in 2019 with his diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare neurological condition, Jackson has used his platform to raise awareness and funds for research. A portion of each ticket sold supported the CMT Research Foundation, and in total, the tour has raised more than $2.25 million through donations, matched contributions, and fan-led efforts.

“I just have to thank y’all for supporting my music all these years, coming to the shows, buying the records and having a good time with us,” Jackson said. “I’m so fortunate, so lucky.”

While the curtain is slowly coming down on his time on the road, Alan Jackson’s music and legacy are built to last. And next summer, he’ll say goodbye to the stage the only way he knows how: in Music City, surrounded by the fans who’ve been there from the very start.
