Samantha Clarke’s Serving Country launches as a raw, digital-first artist interview series filmed in one of Sydney’s favourite country dive bars. Where the scripts fade, personality shines, and country storytellers get to be unapologetically themselves.

If you’re tired of polished press statements and cookie-cutter interviews, there’s a new series in town that’s turning up the authenticity. Serving Country, created by Samantha Clarke (Executive Producer for iHeartCountry Australia), is shaking up how we hear country music stories. Filmed in a Jolene’s bar in Sydney, it delivers short, sharp, and unfiltered conversations with country artists where they can show their real selves.
Clarke, who has a stellar track record and has previously chatted with the likes of Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, Jordan Davis, Riley Green and others, brings that same engaging energy to local rising talents and Golden Guitar winners such as Max Jackson, James Johnston and Hayley Jensen.
The vibe is casual but with just enough edge so you feel like you’re overhearing something real at the bar and not watching a scripted promo interview.
“Serving Country gives artists space to be themselves, the atmosphere is relaxed, the stories are sharp, and the vibe is unapologetically modern,” says Clarke.
The series isn’t a one stop shop. Clarke has plans for Serving Country to go beyond podcast form, and to eventually partner with trusted and relevant brands. Covering everything from quick‑hit videos for social media, to longer discussions when you want more, and maybe even some integrated content that feels native rather than shoved in.
For artists, it’s a chance to break free from the usual promo treadmill. No pretense. No fluff. Just honest storytelling. Clarke’s goal? To carve out a go‑to space where conversations feel honest, where stories are told on the artist’s terms, and where country music can be both polished and gritty.
