Country music star and one of three headliners of the 2025 CMC Rocks festival, Cody Johnson, has revealed that he’s “sick of” Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney’s music, but there’s an adorable reason for that.
In a new interview with Coyote Country, Johnson discussed his two daughters, Clara Mae and Cori, who are nine and seven. The girls love country music and almost want to follow in their father’s footsteps. They also love hearing the women rocking country music right now.
Explaining why he’s discouraged his daughters from entering the country music business, Johnson said, “I told them ‘don’t do it,’ and you think it’s easy because we ride around in private jets and buses and stuff with Dad, and we have these expensive trips and all this stuff.
“It looks good on paper, but I tell them, ‘You guys weren’t around for the real hard work like looking into a McDonald’s and not being able to go in and buy food and literally starving for country music.’”
While Johnson is undoubtedly a country music star, he says that in his house, the interest is all on Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, and Megan Moroney. His daughters love their music, but Johnson is getting tired because all three artists are played “constantly” in his house.
He said, “Cody Johnson is like the lowest man on the totem pole right now. At my house, it kind of goes Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, and Megan Moroney.

“I love Carrie. I love Lainey, and I recently met Megan. She’s one of the nicest girls I [have] ever met, but I’m so sick of their music. It’s not even funny because they blare it constantly at our house.”
In addition to headlining CMC Rocks, Cody Johnson recently announced a HUGE Australian tour that will see him perform in arenas. He’ll be joined by special guests Cole Swindell (USA), Ashley Cooke (USA), and Australia’s own Wade Forster, who won this year’s Toyota Star Maker competition. Johnson will tour Australia throughout March 2025.
Cody Johnson’s forthcoming album, Leather Deluxe, arrives next week – Friday, 1 November, via Warner Music Nashville.
