At just 19, Cait Jamieson’s already got a lifetime of country music in her veins, growing up in Rockhampton with parents who toured and played the festival circuit like the Gympie Music Muster and Tamworth Country Music Festival. Music has pretty much been her whole life, and she’s been chasing this kind of big break since she was a kid.
For her Blind Audition, Jamieson chose to cover the classic Right Here Waiting a bold move since it’s by one of the coaches, Richard Marx. Spoiler: it worked. Every coach spun around, and Jamieson made the power move to join Team Richard, kicking off her Voice journey with a bang.
What made the moment even more real? Her mum was right there side stage, cheering her on. Jamieson’s late dad had always encouraged her to take a shot at this kind of stage and watching her live that dream was something seriously special.
Inspired by her late father’s encouragement to “go on that one day, bub.” That sentiment carried her through the audition process, which included video submissions, producer screenings, and finally, the nerve-wracking Blind Auditions in Sydney.
With talent, heart, and that undeniable country grit, Cait Jamieson is just getting started. Keep an eye on this rising star.
