Tyler Childers announced his return to Australia and New Zealand this week, but he’s already had to announce a second show in Sydney to meet phenomenal demand in the pre-sale.
Like the first one, the new show will be held at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion but will take place on Tuesday, 11 February. With the new date announced, Childers’ Australian tour itinerary is as follows:
He begins the tour at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Thursday, 6 February, before heading to Brisbane’s Sandstone Point Hotel on Saturday, 8 February, The Green Room, Byron Bay on Sunday, 9 February, and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Tuesday, 11 and Wednesday, 12 February.
Childers will then headline the inaugural Howlin’ Country festival in Newcastle on Saturday, 15 February, before playing at the Royal Theatre Canberra on Sunday, 16 February, Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Thursday, 20 February, and concluding with another outdoor show at Coal Creek Community Park & Museum, Korumburra on Saturday, 22 February.
The general sale for Tyler Childers’ upcoming Australian tour opens today at 10 am local time via the Live Nation Australia and New Zealand websites and from tour promoters Love Police.
In a statement, Love Police’s Brian Taranto said of the highly anticipated tour, “It’s an exciting time for fans of important and good time music with Tyler and his band finally getting to town. Since his last visit [in March 2019], Tyler has become a superstar around the world. A trailblazer, an inspiration to many and a deliverer of excellent live shows. Can’t wait for everyone to feel it in February.”
