Tyler Childers has announced an Australian leg of his Mule Pull world tour, with six headline shows and a festival on the itinerary for next February.

The trek will begin in Brisbane (Meanjin) on Thursday February 6, when Childers and his band, The Food Stamps, take over the Sandstone Point Hotel. They’ll hit up The Green Room in Byron Bay (Arakwal) the following night (February 9), before rolling on south for a show at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney (Eora) on Wednesday February 12.

Following his headlining set at the inaugural Howlin Country festival in Newcastle (Awakabal) – slated to go down at Foreshore Park on Saturday February 15 – Childers will round that weekend out with a more intimate show in Canberra (Ngambri), playing the Royal Theatre on Sunday February 16.

From there, Childers will play the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne (Naarm) on Thursday February 20, then wrap the tour up with a special show at the Coal Creek Community Park & Museum in Korumburra on Saturday February 22.

Tickets for all six of Childers’ headline shows go on sale at 10am local time this Friday (July 12), following two presales: one for Mastercard customers that kicks off at 1pm tomorrow (July 9), followed by one for Live Nation and Love Police members that kicks off at 2pm this Thursday (July 11) – head here for more info on all ticket sales.

$1 from every ticket sold will go to BlazeAid, a charity that works to provide “practical support to secure livestock and rebuild fencing immediately following natural disasters in regional and rural Australian communities”.

In a press release, Love Police’s Brian Taranto said of Childers’ return to Australia (having last toured here in March 2019), “It’s an exciting time for fans of important and good time music with Tyler and his band finally getting to town. Since his last visit, Tyler has become a superstar around the world. A trailblazer, an inspiration to many and a deliverer of excellent live shows. Can’t wait for everyone to feel it in February.”

The tour comes in support of Childers’ sixth studio album, Rustin’ In The Rain, which arrived last September. He’s also released two more albums since his last visit to Australia: Long Violent History in 2020, and Can I Take My Hounds To Heaven? in 2022.
