Luke Combs has paid for the funerals of three young men who saw him perform at a Michigan country music festival before they died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, Dawson Brown, 20, Kole Sova, 19 and William Mays II, 20, were exposed to emissions from a portable generator that was too close to their camper on the Faster Horses Festival campground at Michigan International Speedway.
Two other men, Kurtis Stitt and Rayfield Johnson, both 20, were found alive inside the trailer in critical condition. A Facebook group posting updates on Stitt said earlier this week, that he is now "eating, talking and even walking." Adding, “Initially, the doctors had said if he made it, we would have to talk about long term care. Now they are saying he will make a full recovery!”
Johnson, however, is still fighting for his life in the intensive care unit.

Asha Goodman, a representative for Combs, confirmed that the country singer has covered the funeral costs, but the singer had no other comment about the donation.
Sova’s mother, Meeka Sova, said they received the news when attending Dawson's funeral, "We were all there and everybody was just shocked. We just can't believe it. It warmed our hearts. We were having a rough day, and everybody was tense. With that news you just felt warmth in your heart."
She continued, "Him doing that, there's meaning behind it. That was the last concert we were at with our boys. That is where we were last all together having a fun time. When we left that concert that was the last time we had seen them. They went one way home and we went the other way."
Father, Jerry Sova added, "It's just a freak accident. For all those decisions to line up to get to this tragedy it just boggles your mind - of the thousands of generators and campers, they were the ones that it hit."
After the deaths were confirmed, the festival posted a statement on social media: "All of us in the Faster Horses Festival Family are deeply saddened by the tragic losses this weekend as confirmed by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department. Our hearts are broken for the family, friends and loved ones."
