Just days after copping an unwanted object to the face while performing in the US, Luke Bryan has responded to the incident.

The unfortunate moment in question occurred at the North Dakota State Fair on Saturday, July 26th when Bryan was performing his 2011 hit, Country Girl (Shake It For Me).

Appearing at an event which also included the likes of Limp Bizkit, Soulja Boy, and more across its multi-day runtime, it’s clear that one audience member seemed to be confused about which gig they were at and launched an object at Bryan’s face mid-song.

Ever the professional, Bryan momentarily paused (seemingly to process what just happened) before he continued on with the track.

However, in a new interview with Taste Of Country, the veteran musician reflected on the incident, ultimately chalking it up to the unfortunate cost of doing business as a performer.

“It’s the last song of the night. It was a big ole fun party, and I think one person just took it too far,” he explained. “We see it. Every other entertainer out there is getting stuff — you get stuff thrown at ya … you hope that you can see who did it.”

Of course, while Bryan seemed to brush off the moment, he acknowledged that he could have easily ruined the entire vibe of the performance had he reacted rashly and if he’d been able to identify the culprit in the crowd.

“I could have gone right to him. I probably would have jumped right off in there,” he admitted.

“If I jump off in there, there were a lot of little kids down there. At that point, if I’d even stopped it and pointed somebody out, it kills the vibe of the show.”

This isn’t the first time that forces outside of his control have affected a recent show. A June performance at Walmart AMP in Rogers, Arkansas necessitated the postponement of his two following dates after Bryan admitted that he was having vocal issues during that particular gig.

Rather than end the show early, he still sang for the rest of the night but promised fans that they’d be refunded for his performance, which he felt was less than impressive.

“This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life,” he later told fans. “I cannot have my voice in this venue for some reason. It happens every time, I don’t know why.”
