Kip Moore was planning on being an independent artist for a little while, but it seems he’s formed a relationship with a new label that was too good to resist.
Billboard reports that Moore has signed a global deal with Virgin Music Group. The news arrives six months after the singer-songwriter departed his label home of ten years, MCA/Universal Music Group Nashville, and the announcement that he’d release his next album as an independent artist.
In addition to signing the deal, Moore has teased a new song, Live Here To Work, which will be released next Friday (20 September).
Moore told Billboard about the move to sign with Virgin, “I was excited to make this record as a truly independent artist, but wanted to remain open to partner with a team if and when it made sense.
“I enjoyed getting to know the Virgin team, and their tenacity, passion and their focus on a global plan made this feel like the next best step.”

He added, per Whiskey Riff, “I’m a firm believer that this life is what you make it and is enhanced by the people you surround yourself with. I see this next chapter of my career as an opportunity to keep building this thing brick by brick.
“I was making this record independently when I began having the initial conversations with Virgin and other record labels. It was ultimately the tangible passion from Virgin Music Group that made me want to team up and see where we could take this next chapter.
“There is a trust and a freedom in what I do, and I can feel that from this team.”
In other Kip Moore news, the singer-songwriter is preparing to return to Australia this month and next, headlining festivals such as the Deni Ute Muster and Savannah In The Round and performing in arenas across the country. He’s touring in support of his most recent album, Damn Love, released last April. Moore will be joined by special guests James Johnston and Sons Of The East.
