We’ve been noticing a trend of aspiring country wannabees becoming bona fide recording artists thanks to the video-sharing platform, TikTok.

Just like how artists like Adele and Panic! At The Disco were discovered on MySpace – back when MySpace was a thing – now, country music artists have jumped into the trend of the video-sharing platform, TikTok to find creative ways to help make their music reach to their fans.

After her father passed away when she was eight, Taylor soon began writing songs in her journal as a way to cope with her loss. After receiving an overwhelmingly positive response to her covers of popular songs on YouTube, she spent her late adolescence playing local talent shows and auditioned for both American Idol and The Voice. She released her debut EP Put Me In A Song and single of the same name in 2017. Are We is her first single of 2021.
Cooper got his start performing in a band in North Carolina, where he performed in every bar, college campus and honky tonk that would allow him and his band to play. He later moved to Nashville with his guitar and a dream. A chance meeting with songwriter and producer, Victoria Shaw saw him get a publishing deal and release the singles, Tough Ones and New Normal, both of which debuted atop the iTunes country chart.
Born in Miami with Cuban roots but thriving in Nashville, Sammy was raised on the eclectic beats that filled the Florida streets, but came to love the lyrics embedded in country music – and though it hadn't been done in quite this way before, melding the two made perfect sense for the 28-year old. His most recent single Take My Phone went viral on TikTok with over 2.5M impressions and 500k streams across all platforms.
Kaleb recently released the single, Sound of the South – which debuted at #1 on the iTunes country chart and was the third most downloaded song in all of country music the week of its release. The track was written by Kaleb, and produced by Dan Frizsell, who has created tracks for Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean. He plans to release his next single in May this year, with an EP set to follow in early 2022.
Bonner is an Americana artist with 70's rock and roll and classic pop influences. Originally an accomplished classical ballet dancer, she taught herself guitar and began seriously writing songs in high school. At 17, she resigned from her ballet company and moved to Nashville where she began touring and opening for the likes of Charlie Daniels, The Band Perry, Shooter Jennings, and Lee Greenwood.
Brothers Christian and Brody Clementi were born and raised in Nashville by their songwriter father, who has penned songs for artists like Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and many others. Their young, fresh sound is built on harmony-driven country melodies with influences ranging from The Everly Brothers to Ed Sheeran. They’re released a heap of singles so far, including their debut Marina, in which Luke Bryan makes a cameo in the music video.
Drew moved to Nashville at 19 with the dream of creating music that was different from your everyday country music. He spent the next five years writing, recording and experimenting, taking the time to perfect the sound he had envisioned. The result was the 13 killer tracks on his Dirt On Us album. Drew’s latest single That’s You, which he wrote for his fiancée Katie, grew his social media footprint from 300 on TikTok to more than 60K.
With an honest and upfront approach, Priscilla found fame with her self-aware, lightly comic pop-country songs like Thick Thighs and PMS. She followed with Just About Over You, which raced to the top of both iTunes country and all genre song chart in only 12 short hours. She recently released the unfiltered, relatable, and catchy I Bet You Wanna Know, which was our Song of the Day last month.
Dylan began playing drums at six, and soon after began singing. The 22-year-old and his twin brother Cody formed the band, The Brady Brothers. Gaining tens of thousands of Twitter followers, they later opened for Meghan Trainor in New York. After being diagnosed with Tourette syndrome as a teenager, Dylan became a junior ambassador for the Tourette Association of America. He has released several singles over the past four years, and Don’t Love A Girl is his newest.
Ashley attended Belmont University’s music programs, winning Belmont’s annual Country showcase – a very high honour at Belmont as past winners include Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young and Brad Paisley, to name a few. She co-created the movement, The 615 House, as a way to bring artists together and help audiences easily find artists when searching for new music. Her current single is the laid-back, Sunday Morning Kinda Saturday Night.
Hannah is another artist we pegged for Song of the Day, with her catchy single Left Right (which we're still loving it!). She earned critical attention for her previous releases, including Girls Call The Shots, The Tree and Stoned Age. Hannah recently surpassed one million followers on TikTok for her viral ‘Stand By Your Pan’ series, where she whips up traditional Southern recipes with a twist.
Brandon boasts over a million followers on TikTok, creating covers by artists like Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton. A country singer as well as a dedicated family man, his wife and kids also join him in some of most popular videos. His track, Step by Step follows last year’s previously released single, God Made Angels. What Cowboys Are For, his next single, will be out later this month.
Louisiana-native Jordan moved to Nashville in 2012. Since then, he has released his self-titled EP, was nominated for a ‘Best New Male Artist of Year’ ACM award in 2020 and has racked up over one billion streams for his debut album, Home State – which features his three number one, platinum-certified tracks Single You Up, Take It From Me and Slow Dance In a Parking Lot. Need To Not premieres this weekend, but for now we’ll settle for our new favourite, Almost Maybes.
We featured Will's single, Mississippi Mud back in February, and we’re still obsessing over it! The country-rock anthem was written by Will about his recent trip to Nashville. Will found fame after the release of a video of his daughter reacting to his debut single, Best Parts of Me, whom the song was penned for. The video caught the attention of Oprah Magazine, as well as actors Channing Tatum and Mario Lopez.
Multi-platinum Nashville-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Russell Dickerson’s latest single, Home Sweet is as real as it gets. The song was written during 2020 pandemic, when his income stopped and he and his wife found themselves flat broke following their honeymoon. Now, he has bought a new house and has a baby on the way. This song was a contender for Song of the Day many times and is off his sophomore album, Southern Symphony.
Taylor first posted her original song Good Time Girl on TikTok in May 2020, which earned well over 600,000 views, more than 100,000 likes and over 2,000 comments. She originally had no intention to release it as a single, but did so due to the attention it received. The single was released in late February, and peaked at #27 on the iTunes country singles chart and #91 on the iTunes all-genre singles chart. She hopes to release more music in 2021.
Tony’s love for country music was established at a very young age. He spent countless hours increasing his skill level in hopes of one day being considered one of the best singer-songwriters and musicians in country music. His greatest musical influences include George Strait, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, and Garth Brooks. His smooth baritone voice is highlighted on his latest single, Hotel Room.
Andrew appeared on season 16 of The Voice, but it wasn’t until a year later, in July 2020, that his then-girlfriend (now wife) posted a video of him cooking dinner while singing along to his breakout debut single, Gone Too Soon to his TikTok that then took his social stardom to new heights. The viral clip has now been viewed over ten million times. The song later debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart.
Alexandra’s latest single, We Wouldn’t Be Us is the story of first dates, living flat broke, and first fights – which I dare so, is totally relatable! It’s that relatability that’ll make you reminisce on the hiccups that happen, whether right or wrong, in every relationship. Alexandra started in hip hop and R&B before returning to her country roots at age 22 with the release of her number one single, I Kinda Don’t.
A gifted singer-songwriter from Dayton, Ohio, Thomas started performing at 14-years-old. Artists like Johnny Cash, Georgie Straight, Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney influenced his blend of traditional with pop country writing and singing – as demonstrated in his latest single, Beer VS Women.
Trey and Lexi Pendley fell in love and started making music and a life together. Based in South Louisiana, the duo travel across the US, playing classic and modern covers with their own spin, with their young daughter, Ember Lucille. They're also working on an own EP of original songs that’s due out later this year. Trey also recently released his own single called Daddy’s Son.

Villain debuted atop iTunes’ all genre and country charts, and has been streamed over 7 million times across all digital platforms since its release. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, but calling Nashville home since 2015, the former high school basketball and soccer star has been pursuing a career in music for more than thirteen years.
Over the past four years, Chris has written and recorded his own style of modern pop country music. Influenced by Sam Hunt, Brett Young and Jordan Davis, Chris released an emotional breakup song called Kissing Me Back in 2019, which helped build on his already loyal and supportive fan base. Three singles then followed – Love Like That, Good For Leaving and his latest, Til It Wasn’t. He also co-created The 615 House.
A Southern-Georgia native, RVSHVD's (pronounced Rashad) recent single, Raised Up took the top spot on the iTunes country chart. Before releasing Raised Up, his country version of Roddy Rich’s Ballin’ went viral, helping boast his page to over 800k followers on TikTok. His EP, Be Somebody was released in 2019, and features his unique blend of country and R&B.
Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Noah’s first singles Hello Beautiful and Maybe We Will have garnered 51 million streams on Spotify. In 2019, he performed at C2C: Country to Country, making his debut live performance in the United Kingdom, and released his debut seven-track EP the following year. Noah is also a talented award-nominated actor, having appeared in hit comedy series How I Met Your Mother and the web-series, HitStreak.
Clayton hails from the corn fields of Illinois, but has called Nashville home since 2018. Since then, he has focused on songwriting, crafting a high-quality live show, and has been playing with internationally touring band Blackjack Billy. His current single is the heartfelt, Signed Another Man, which debuted at #85 on the iTunes country charts. Clayton's next highly-anticipated track is scheduled for release very soon.
Tigirlily (pronounced Tie-Girl-Lilly) is comprised of sisters Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh. The sisters grew up in a home where singing was encouraged. They easily learnt to harmonise with each other, taking a cue from a few of their musical influences like The Chicks, Sugarland and Rascal Flatts. Their debut EP Victory charted at #33, and their follow-up Wild Creatures (2017) rose to #14 on the iTunes country charts.
Chase was our Artist of the Week and his catchy single Why Should We was our Song of the Day back in January. At only 24 years old, the former college track star was pegged as ‘one to watch’ thanks in part to his performance covers of Tate McRae’s You Broke Me First and Justin Bieber’s Lonely, as well as original recordings on his TikTok account. He made his debut last year with his album, My Kind of Morning, which logged over 425,000 streams across digital platforms worldwide in just over a month.
