Kacey Musgraves has rescheduled an upcoming event in Nashville on Sunday (22 June) after suffering a broken rib and being in no physical condition to travel.
According to an Instagram Story Musgraves shared on Friday (20 June), the singer-songwriter is currently in Mexico, where she sustained an injury after an “extremely hard fall.”
“Sooo I'm in Mexico with a fucking broken rib,” she began, sharing a photo of an X-ray that shows her injury.
“Wednesday night it was raining and I was running to grab some towels and had an extremely hard fall on some very slick tile I didn't see. Thankful I didn't smack my head but I landed very very hard on my back left ribcage and I broke rib number 6.”
She continued, “This shit is no joke. I'm in a lot of pain and doing ANYTHING is extremely difficult but I'm managing and being well taken care of.”
Due to her injury and inability to travel, Musgraves revealed that her appearance at the live taping of the Sing For Science podcast with Paul Stamets at the Ryman Auditorium on Sunday would have to be rescheduled. The new date will take place on Saturday, 18 September.

Tickets purchased for this weekend’s event will be valid for the rescheduled date; if fans can’t make it to the new show, they have up to 30 days to organise a refund. Ticketholders can find more information on the Ryman Auditorium website.
Musgraves explained, “There is no physical way I can get on a plane and fly back to Nashville for the @singforscience event with @paulstamets on Sunday at @theryman.
“I am extremely bummed to have to reschedule as I have been looking forward to this for months but there is literally no other option. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.”

Last month, Kacey Musgraves revealed that she has plans to perform in South America, Asia, and Australia.
Hinting at international dates, the Butterflies singer told The Hollywood Reporter, “I’m going to South America, then Asia and Australia. I’m playing Brazil for the first time. I know the energy and the fans there are unlike anywhere else.
“It’s been really cool to see the rest of the world come to love country music, because, really, country is more about a mentality and an attitude versus geography. Real country music is based on real emotions all humans have, no matter where you’re from.”
