Australian country legend John Williamson has revealed that his unconventional festival series dubbed Willoshed will be back for June 2025, and may be his last edition of the beloved two-day event.

Held at his own residential property in the Gold Coast Hinterland, the singer’s event, named after his trusty shed venue, would go on to garner the attention of various news sites for breaking boundaries between artist and fan.

Originally started in 2016, and coinciding with the anniversary of his first single, Old Man Emu, Williamson chose to open his home for two nights in June each year to play some of his classic hits for fans.

"It's really sharing how lucky we are to have this place. But we overlook complete wilderness and overlook the rainforest, and people just get a lot of fun just being there, let alone the show,” He told Nine News in 2023.

"I put on a two-hour show in the middle of the day, and they get a sausage and a free beer, and it's an experience."

Williamson announced the news of his 9th Willoshed concert over the weekend.

“Willoshed #2025. Who’s joining me at my Hinterland farm?” Williamson said in a post to Facebook on Sunday before adding some dismaying news.

“It could possibly be my very last intimate concert…..”

Little has been added to corroborate this news, however Williamson, 78, has dropped hints on his website. The country legend has shows scheduled all the way into September 2025, with a special 55 Years: My Travellin’ Days Are Done tour in 2025.

With half a century of experience in the music industry, Williamson has racked up a plethora of awards: 26 Golden Guitar awards, three ARIAs, an induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2010, and an induction to be made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1992. The country singer has had a phenomenal career.

For those who are considering checking out what is potentially the last of Williamson’s intimate concert experience at Willoshed, the singer urges, ” If you haven’t been yet, ask the folks who have!!! Looking forward to seeing some very special returning faces, year after year.”

“Thanks for celebrating my career and journey through the power of song.”
