Jake Davey Releases Empowering New Single, 'Made'

Jake Davey has released a positive new single, Made, amid hospital rehab.

The empowering number finds Davey relaying the message, “Even amidst tough days, the presence of the person you love makes it all worthwhile”.

The upbeat pop-number has been created as Davey fights the debilitating condition, Spinal Stenosis. After dealing with the situation for two years already, the singer’s health battle reached a critical stage a month ago, as it developed into excruciating pain.

The nerves in Davey’s back are so severely damaged that he cannot control his lower body. This part of the condition is called Cauda Equina.

Davey commented about Made in a press release, “Made serves as a powerful reminder to embrace life’s ups and downs, with the assurance that everything will eventually fall into place.”

As well as rallying for Davey with a GoFundMe fundraising campaign, the Australian country music community has gathered to host a concert in his honour, Jake Fest, on Sunday, 19 November.

The event will take place from noon until 7 pm at the Great Lakes Paddocks in Wootton, NSW. You can buy tickets and participate in the raffle here.

Davey’s peers, Chelsea Berman, Taylor Moss, Kylie Jane, Piper Rodrigues, Imogen Hall, Jack Hudson, Maddy Andrews and Jamie Preston, will all perform at Jake Fest.

“Around a month ago, Jake's condition became critical; his pain became excruciating,” Davey’s best friend Savannah Black explained in the GoFundMe website description. “His ability to walk without supports and heavy pain relief was taken away from him. He then presented at John Hunter after not being able to take the pain anymore, where he was told that the only option was emergency back surgery.”

Jake Davey is now fighting to regain control of his lower body. That challenge requires rigorous rehabilitation and physical therapy, and as someone who runs an independent business, Davey is struggling with the financial pressures put on him.
