More Courtney Keil More Courtney Keil

Courtney Keil is entering a bold new era and she’s bringing backup. The three time Best Female Vocalist at the Australian Country Music People’s Choice Awards has partnered with Adam Black to form an exciting new project: The Midnight Black Band.

Keil has carved her niche with heartfelt lyrics, 90s country-meets-modern vibes, and playful hooks. Her debut album, The Good Kind, featured popular songs like I Just Wanna Hold You and Hummingbird. Keil has also collaborated with her mentor Gina Jeffreys on her hit track Worn In. Now, she’s ready to expand and push her boundaries.

Between Keil’s lyrical warmth and Black’s raw talent, The Midnight Black Band promises to be something listeners didn’t know they needed: confident, fresh, and ready to shake up Australia’s country scene.

Their debut performance as a duo couldn’t have come with a more iconic backdrop. The Midnight Black Band played their first-ever live set as the official pre-entertainment for Keith Urban’s High and Alive World Tour stop in Newcastle.

Warming up the crowd ahead of one of Australia’s biggest country exports, Courtney Keil and Adam Black delivered a confident, high-energy set that introduced their fresh sound to eager fans. It set the tone for what promises to be an exciting new chapter for both artists.

There have been no hints as to when fans can expect new music or a string of tour dates from the duo just yet, but keep your eyes peeled because that just means there's plenty to anticipate.

With undeniable on-stage chemistry and a shared vision for modern country, The Midnight Black Band feels less like a side project and more like a power move. So whether it’s a one-off collaboration or the start of something long-term, Keil and Black are clearly tapping into something special and fans are here for it.
