After more than ten years as one of the most recognisable voices in Australian country radio, Luke "Crossy" Cross will officially wrap up his time with KIX Country.

In a heartfelt post shared to social media last night, Crossy reflected on his 10.5-year journey at the network, saying:

“Well, it isn't how I planned it if I'm honest. After 10.5 years my time at Kix is coming to an end. It has been the best job I've ever had and I am sad to see it end. The country community is full of amazing humans. I love all of you and hopefully I'll get to see a lot of you this weekend at Gympie... I'm sure there will be a Crossy night.”

Crossy shared a collection of photos from the past decade, showing just how much heart, humour, and hustle he poured into his time at KIX - not just as a host, but as a key connector in Australia’s country music scene. He gave a special shoutout to fellow radio presenter Justin Thomson and the “legendary” David Greenwood for being part of the ride.

Fans, friends and artists alike were quick to flood his socials with messages of support. Casey Barnes was one of the first to chime in with “Won’t be the same without ya brother. Hope you know how many people love and respect you. You’re a bloody legend”, Pagan Newman added “Absolutely love ya Crossy, you are an absolute legend!”

KIX Country is one of Australia’s leading commercial country music networks, broadcasting to over 60 towns and cities across the country. Known for championing local artists and keeping regional Australia connected to the country scene, KIX has long been a staple in the industry and Crossy was a huge part of that.

Over the years, his genuine love for the genre, quick wit, and unmatched energy helped shape the sound and soul of the station. From festival coverage to artist interviews, Crossy became more than just a radio host, he became a trusted voice and familiar face of Australian country music.

So what’s next? Crossy isn’t hanging up the mic just yet. He’s heading to Rockhampton, where he’ll be taking over the drive show on 4RO marking the beginning of a new chapter in his broadcasting career.
