Creating a unique and curious sound that blurs the line between commercial and alt country, Piper Rodrigues is a dedicated and passionate singer-songwriter that takes influence from female powerhouses like Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini, Brandi Carlile and Dolly Parton.
The CMAA Academy of country music graduate has supported household names such as Hayley Jensen and Catherine Britt. She’s achieved runner up stats in Today’s Country 94.1 ‘Brand New Star’ Competition and she was recognised as a finalist in the University of Newcastle’s band comp.
Her latest single, I Hate That I Love It, was co-written with Lyn Bowtell and produced by Shane Nicholson at The Sound Hole. I Hate That I Love It is an unique telling of Piper's relationship within her music. She notes this song as being written during a time where she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with her life, but figured that she should start “where the love shines brightest”.

I LOVE Lainey Wilson! I’m really into the groove of this song, the guitars' tone, and Lainey’s voice against it. I love how the song paints a picture of who she is perfectly. It’s the ideal opening song for her amazing album. It is seriously one of my literal life dreams to one day do support for her on tour.

This is such a cool song from an absolutely AMAZING artist! This awesome tune is full of so many cool earworms that I find myself humming everywhere. It is so tastefully constructed! Max Jackson is the perfect proof that Australian pop country is in the best hands. It’s no wonder she took home the 2022 Toyota Star Maker title last year.
Jack Hudson is the full package. Killer guitar chops, an amazing voice, and an old soul perfect for writing songs that hit you right where they should. One Way Ticket is the perfect example of this. I’m in love with the soaring guitars and the hauntingly hopeful vocal tracks. You can immediately tell that the upmost care has been taken to create an incredible sound that is entirely his. Jack Hudson is an artist definitely neither lost nor meant to be left out.
Melody Moko has been a favourite artist of mine for years now and with tracks like The Outskirts that hasn’t even come close to changing. Everything about this song is so uniquely Melody and that’s what I love about it. She writes to the world around her and doesn’t try to put a shiny bow on it, she can find the beauty in being truthful and raw.
I had full-body chills the first time I ever heard this song. Allison Forbes is something truly special. She has mastered the art of blending true sorrow into bravery in Shallow Grave so much so that when listening to this song you feel as though she’s holding your hand whilst taking you through her sadness. The outstanding vocal and truly beautiful instrumentation set the scene wonderfully for her album ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’.
