After a whirlwind few years of touring, alt-country band The Pleasures are set to return to Australian stages this spring with a national tour in support of their forthcoming second album, Enemy of My Enemy, dropping August 15.
The tour will kick off in high gear with a performance at the iconic Deni Ute Muster, before rolling through New South Wales, the ACT, and Victoria across October and November. Fans in Europe will also get a dose of The Pleasures’ signature grit, with an international run of dates scheduled in between Australian legs.
The tour announcement follows the release of Was It Something I Said?, the band’s latest single is a bit of bluesy Americana that offers a taste of what’s to come on Enemy of My Enemy. The album sees The Pleasures doubling down on what they do best, serving up honest songwriting with a raw edge that leaves you with an emotional gut punch.
Formed around the potent on-stage chemistry between acclaimed singer-songwriters Lachlan Bryan and Catherine Britt, The Pleasures are rounded out by rhythm section Brad Bergen and Damian Cafarella, creating a sound that’s as unfiltered as it is unforgettable.
Their 2023 debut album, The Beginning of the End, launched them into a two-year tour odyssey that’s taken them to festival stages around Australia and internationally, including Port Fairy Folk Festival, Gympie Music Muster, Dashville Skyline and Maverick Festival (UK) as well as official showcases at both Folk Alliance International (US) and AmericanaFest (US).
With Enemy of My Enemy the band promises a tour that’s both a celebration and a catharsis. “This is the most powerful set of songs we’ve taken on the road yet,” says the band, “and we’re ready to bring the heat.”
