Country music icon Alan Jackson performed his final show at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on Saturday, 27 June, and now fans who couldn’t attend, or simply want to relive it, can.
Alan Jackson: The Last Show airs on NBC on Tuesday, 8 December, from 8 to 10 pm ET/PT. The special will then stream on Peacock the following day.
Billboard notes that Jackson won’t be alone on stage throughout the special. Special guests include Luke Combs, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Riley Green, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Lainey Wilson, Lee Ann Womack, Cody Johnson, and more.
Plus, Jackson will perform with George Strait for Designated Drinker and Murder on Music Row, celebrating Alan’s nearly four decades in country music with the local and global music community.
For his last-ever show, Jackson performed a 25-song set of classics and covers. Check out the setlist here.
Last May, Jackson announced that his final show would take place in Nashville.
He said at the time, “We’re planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime. We just felt like we had to end it all where it all started, and that’s in Nashville, Tennessee - Music City - where country music lives. I gotta do the last one there.”
Having launched his storied career in the late ‘80s, Jackson is recognised as one of the most popular country artists of all time, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide, winning numerous Grammy, CMA, and ACM Awards, and also being inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Beyond his legendary music career, Jackson made waves offstage.
Since going public in 2019 with his diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare neurological condition, Jackson has used his platform to raise awareness and funds for research.
A portion of each ticket sold supported the CMT Research Foundation, and in total, his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour raised more than $2.25 million through donations, matched contributions, and fan-led efforts.
