Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift wasn’t in attendance at Alan Jackson’s final concert on Saturday (27 June), instead offering a video message showing support for his incredible career.
However, her video message – seen by thousands of fans at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium – was met with audible boos from members of the audience.
In the clip, Swift said that her favourite Alan Jackson song is Drive, explaining her admiration for how he “paints such a picture” of his life.
She added, “I appreciate you so much for the ways that you have just treated me and other artists and writers with just such support and encouragement over the years.” Swift’s video was the final clip to be played before Jackson took to the stage, Consequence of Sound reports.
You can see footage of the moment below.
Taylor Swift wasn’t the only one to issue a video message to the country legend. Others who shared messages included Keith Urban, Zac Brown, Kenny Chesney, and NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
For his last-ever show, Jackson performed a 25-song set of classics and covers, with George Strait joining him on stage for two songs. See the setlist here.

While tickets for the show sold out almost immediately, those nearby were able to gather at Broadway in Downtown Nashville to witness a free livestream of Jackson’s final show. The concert was also filmed, with NBC set to air a television special event entitled Alan Jackson: The Last Show later this year.
Last May, Jackson announced that his final show would take place in Nashville.
He said at the time, “We’re planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime. We just felt like we had to end it all where it all started, and that’s in Nashville, Tennessee - Music City - where country music lives. I gotta do the last one there.”
In addition to his legendary music career, Jackson made waves offstage.
Since going public in 2019 with his diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare neurological condition, Jackson has used his platform to raise awareness and funds for research.
A portion of each ticket sold supported the CMT Research Foundation, and in total, his Last Call: One More for the Road Tour has raised more than $2.25 million through donations, matched contributions, and fan-led efforts.
