Scotty McCreery And Wife Gabi Expecting First Child

Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi, are expecting their first child.

McCreery confirmed the exciting news with PEOPLE and revealed they will be welcoming a baby boy this November.

“We got a little man on the way,” shared the father-to-be.

He continued, "I grew up playing sports, so getting to introduce him to baseball, which was my first love right there with music, and golf are just little things that [will be great]."

McCreery declared they always wanted to start a family but were waiting for the perfect time.

"We always knew we wanted kids, but we always knew we wanted the first few years to travel and have time on the road, to see things and experience life," he added. "We've gotten to live a lot of life and do some cool things, so seems like now's a good time to settle down a little and expand the family."

Gabi is putting her career as a pediatric nurse to use when her newborn arrives later this year.

"I feel like it's prepared me in many ways," she said. "Even just down to changing diapers multiple times in a day and figuring out how to soothe the baby when they're upset, for sure has helped."

The couple, who are both 28 years old, are high school sweethearts and tied the knot in June of 2018. Gabi recently shared new pregnancy photos, including mini cowboy boots on Instagram.

She captioned, “Just sharing a few more of our fave new fam pics. Feeling very blessed and thankful for all the kind words this week! We can’t wait to share our little man with y’all.”

McCreery got his break after winning American Idol in 2011. His current single, Damn Strait, is the second single from his most recent album, Same Truck, released last year.
