Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi, have welcomed their first child, son Merrick Avery McCreery, who was born on October 24 at 4.34 am ET in Raleigh, North Carolina.

McCreery said, “Next to his mother, he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. We have been waiting and preparing all year, and now we are so excited to have our little man here with us. We have begun a grand new adventure that will continue for the rest of our lives.”

“Gabi was a total rock star during Avery’s birth. I could not be more proud of her,” he added. “She has already taken to motherhood like a champ. Part of my joy as his Dad is watching Gabi already crush it as his Mum.”

The couple’s son, who checked in at 7 lbs., 13 oz. and measured 21 in. long at birth, is named after Gabi’s father, Merrick (Tre) Dugal III, and will be called Avery.

Avery McCreery is McCreery and Gabi's first child. They married in 2018 after nearly a decade of dating. The high school sweethearts announced in June that they were expecting their first child. “We got a little man on the way,” McCreery said.

McCreery will release the deluxe album of his fifth studio album, Same Truck on November 18. It includes the same hit and first single, You Time, which reached the top 10 chart in the US.

McCreery launched his recording career by making history in 2011 as both the first country artist and the youngest male artist of any genre to debut his first studio album, the Platinum-certified Clear as Day, at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.

In the last few years, he reached new heights by earning three back-to-back No. 1 hits from his album Seasons Change, the RIAA Gold-certified project which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album chart: the RIAA Double Platinum-certified Five More Minutes, the RIAA Platinum-certified This Is It, and RIAA Gold-certified In Between.

All four of his albums have debuted at No.1 on a Billboard Albums chart, with current combined sales surpassing 3 million copies.
