Robbie Mortimer is officially stepping into his next era. Today, the rising country artist announced his brand new EP Notes From A Very Loud Mind, is set to be released on March 13, alongside the reveal of its lead single Might Be The Night, dropping next week on February 20, just in time for Mortimer’s highly anticipated CMC Rocks debut.

The EP announcement signals a confident chapter for Mortimer, one clearly shaped by the stage and the connection that comes with live shows. Speaking about the project, he explains:

“This EP is a deliberate statement of who I am right now as an artist and a frontman. It was written with the live stage in mind, especially high-energy environments like CMC Rocks, where songs are meant to be felt together, loud and in the moment.”

Mortimer added, “This EP is about connection, honouring where I come from, embracing fun and mischief, and proving my ability to lead a room, while setting the foundation for an album that will dive even deeper emotionally and lyrically.”

That live-first mindset makes perfect sense as Mortimer gears up for performances on CMC Rocks’ Tailgate and the Rebel Stages, putting these new songs straight into the hands of festival crowds.

Leading the charge is Might Be The Night, a love story built for big moments and even bigger singalongs. Mortimer describes the single as “a love story built for the big moments...It’s about that split second where everything feels possible, and you just don't know where the night might lead.”

Written alongside Nashville heavy hitters Matt McKinney, Andrew Jannakos and Alex Maxwell, the track was produced by local favorite Jared Adlam. McKinney’s influence is especially notable, having penned multiple number ones and worked with artists like Jordan Davis, his collaboration with Mortimer helps elevate the song into undeniable country pop territory.

Between the new EP, his CMC Rocks debut and a stacked run of shows, this moment for Robbie Mortimer feels like the start of something big.
