Keith Urban revealed a small yet particularly gruesome injury to fans while on stage this week.

Last weekend, while playing in Canada, Urban suffered an injury which he discussed as a guest on Much Music. Following an interview, the singer and guitarist addressed the in-studio audience and, before playing a song, detailed the incident.

Starting as an ordinary story, Urban said, “So, I got a band-aid on my finger, so if I drop a pick, I’ll probably rip this thing off at some point.”

Not allowing the audience to get too comfortable in the story, he continued, “We were playing last night, a club show, and I cut my finger at some point, and then as I pulled my finger up on a strumming stroke, the string went into the cut.”

Laughing, he concluded, “I'm just gonna make y’all squirm like I did last night.”

During the interview and live performance event, Urban also revealed his love for the Chappell Roan song, Pink Pony Club.

Earlier this year, Urban was inducted into the Golden GuitarsRoll of Renown, joining Australian country music icons Slim Dusty, Kasey Chambers, John Williamson, Joy McKean, Beccy Cole, and Troy Cassar-Daley. He also won the Top Selling Australian Country Album award for his latest full-length release, HIGH, which reached #1 in Australia.

Urban’s High and Alive World Tour begins in the US next month and lands in Australia in August.

High was released last September. Upon announcing the album, Urban said, “When I’m writing a song, or when I’m in the studio recording it, or even when it’s coming to life on the stage, it’s the same feeling of being ‘in the flow.’ It’s timeless, it’s weightless - and I feel euphoric - I feel HIGH.

“What makes you ‘high’ can mean whatever you want it to mean. It might be physical, spiritual, herbal, meditative, chemical or musical, but it’s definitely a place of utopia.”
