Josh Setterfield’s 'Worst Possible Situation' In Canada After Festival Cancellation

Kallangur country-pop artist Josh Setterfield has outlined the “worst” thing that could happen while touring internationally: a festival getting cancelled and then being stranded.
“Holy shit. So, the worst possible thing that could happen has happened,” Setterfield said in a social media video yesterday (21 September). Setterfield and his band are halfway through their shows in the US and Canada, and the big Canadian festival – Live Laugh Love festival at The Ranch 2.0, Barrie – which they’d flown over for, has been cancelled.
That’s leading to Setterfield and Co. going on a limb and hosting a co-headline show with Ty Wilson with special guest Nickola Magnolia at the Gordon Best Theatre in Peterborough, Ontario, on Saturday, 30 September.
“I have no idea what we’re getting ourselves into here, but hey, if you know anyone in Canada, in Peterborough, in Barrie – anywhere in Ontario – tell them about this show,” Setterfield added. “We just want to come to Canada and play a damn show.

On behalf of tour promoters Forrest Jones Entertainment, country artist Sam L Smith wrote on Facebook this week, “Unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE MUSIC FESTIVAL has decided to cancel the event in Barrie, ON (Canada). We are heart broken for the promoter and all the artist. Big return in 2024!”

Last week, Josh Setterfield released his latest single, Feelin’ Love. The song arrives after Setterfield performed at this year’s Gympie Music Muster and ahead of the return to his Kinda World Tour, which continues at the Orpheum Theatre in Flagstaff, Arizona, on 28 September, and now concludes on 30 September at Gordon Best Theatre.
In 2016, Setterfield transitioned from pop-punk frontman to solo country entertainer. He has since released three EPs – Live It Up (2016), From Dusk (2017) and Till Dawn (2019), all of which debuted in the Top Five of the iTunes Country Music Charts and have accrued over one million streams. Since then, he’s released an abundance of singles and tours consistently.
