Carly Pearce has made her stance towards hecklers clear, kicking one out of her show at North Dakota’s WE Fest on Friday (2 August).

According to reports and footage you can watch below, Pearce reacted after she was about to tell a story between songs (“I want to tell you all a little bit about me”) when a heckler allegedly said, “No one cares.”

Visibly upset by the alleged comment, Pearce then addressed the punter head-on and requested their removal by security.

“Out! Somebody get him out of here! I do not want him at my show,” she said. “Get out of my show. If you’re going to be an asshole, then you’re going to have to say it to me and get the fuck out of my show.

Pearce added, “I do not have time for dicks! See you later!”

After the heckler was removed from the show, Pearce sent a message about being kind to one another, no matter who it is.

“I don’t care if it’s to me, I don’t care if it’s to somebody sitting next to you; I don’t care if it’s on the internet; I don’t care if it’s texting, words hurt,” she began. “That hurt me. That was not nice. And I’m just here to tell you guys, be kind. Do not say mean things to people just to be mean. Don’t think that there aren’t consequences for it.”

Revealing that it was the first time she kicked someone out of one of her shows, the truck on fire singer continued, “I do not believe that he should have been in my show if he’s going to speak to me like that. So, I just want you guys to know that this is the first time I have ever sent somebody out of one of my shows.

“If somebody’s going to be that mean and disrespect me, you are not welcome. So, thank you for being so kind to me tonight and for showing up. And seriously, just be nice to people. Do not be mean. It is not worth it.”

In another video, Pearce addressed her father, who was in the audience. “My dad is right here, and I think he’s gonna have a heart attack,” she said before offering an apology: “I’m sorry, Daddy, but if you’re an asshole, you have to leave.”

Earlier this week, Pearce announced World Tour dates in support of her latest album, hummingbird. The 40+ date tour will travel through North America, Europe, and the UK, starting in October and continuing into May 2025.

Hummingbird, released in June, is an album Pearce has described as “a deeply personal journey filled with heart, soul, and a good dose of humour,” which found her “reconstructing the way I see love and the way I see myself.”

Hummingbird was released just weeks after the singer revealed her diagnosis of the heart condition pericarditis.
