Felicity Kircher has been crowned the 45th winner of the prestigious Toyota Star Maker competition, impressing with her unique take on country music.
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter from Tingalpa, Queensland, has joined an impressive alum list that includes Keith Urban, Max Jackson, Lee Kernaghan, Kaylee Bell, Beccy Cole, Brad Cox, James Blundell, Blake O’Connor, and many more. Following her win, Kircher has taken the mantle from last year’s winner, rodeo cowboy and emerging country music star Wade Forster.
Having previously won the NAB Talent Search, Kircher has made her mark on the Australian country music scene. Yesterday (19 January), she performed on the Toyota Park stage, winning over the audience (and the Star Maker judges) with her songs Dear Rose and Ultimatum.
Kircher recorded her first album with Rob Mackay at the age of 15. She has over a decade of experience in music, having opened for Kasey Chambers and performed at festivals such as the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster, and Savannah In The Round.
To date, Kircher has recorded 12 tracks with renowned Australian country music producer Shane Nicholson. Her latest hit, I Am Cry, has made waves on radio and editorial playlists and has already been recognised as an anthem.
Star Maker Coordinator and judge Cheryl Brown said Kircher was the most “ready” for the big time following her win, per the New England Times.

“Over the past couple of months, we’ve had the opportunity to watch each of the finalists make their way to the Grand Final, but after careful consideration, it was decided that Felicity Kircher was the most ready this year,” Brown said.
Reflecting on the “extraordinary” year Wade Forster experienced after his win last year, Brown added that the Star Maker team looks forward to “helping our winner toward their dreams.”
Toyota Star Maker Producer Barry Harley added, “What an amazing night of exceptional talent. The future of country music is exciting, with a huge variety of emerging Australian artists.
“A huge congratulations to Felicity and each of our finalists. It is an honour to host this very special talent search, right here in Tamworth.”
The other nine finalists for this year’s Star Maker competition included three artists returning for a second year—Bryce Sainty, Finnian Johnson, and Felicity Dowd—as well as newcomers and growing artists Briana Dinsdale, Kaitlyn Thomas, Ella Powell, Teak, James Keith, and Cait Jamieson.
