Brian Nankervis, The Pleasures & More Added To 2024 Port Fairy Folk Festival

The third artist announcement is here, proving why the Port Fairy Folk Festival has been named the Best Regional Festival at the Music Victoria Awards for the second year running.

The 2024 edition of the Port Fairy Folk Festival has grown once again, with a new batch of artists joining an already impressive line-up headlined by Graham Nash.

Today, Icelandic singer-songwriter Svavar Knútur has been added to the event alongside local folk outfit The Maes, RocKwiz favourite Brian Nankervis, growing country music duo The Pleasures, and more.

The fun doesn’t stop there: accompanying the above artists on today’s announcement are Isabel Rumble, Oceanique, Opelousas, the Queen of Hearts mariachi band and local stars Billy Barker, GK of Find Your Voice Choir and Doctor & The Apologies.

Joining Nankervis as a festival favourite are 19-Twenty, Charles Jenkins and Hussy Hicks, as well as extra local artists Gamelan DanAndaJarabi Band, and Lian Husi Timor.

The 2024 edition of the Port Fairy Folk Festival will occur from next year’s Labour Day weekend, from Friday, 8 March, until Monday, 11 March. Tickets are on sale now, and they’re selling fast. Get yours from the Port Fairy Folk Festival website.

“Port Fairy is a destination for lovers of music and culture that sees musicians from across the globe come together to share their music with our loyal audience over the March long weekend,” Festival Program Director Justin Rudge commented in a press release. “The 2024 event is our 47th festival and features Australian debuts, emerging artists, and international stars covering folk traditions and contemporary culture in music.

The new artist announcement accompanies Graham Nash, Alice SkyeSarah Blasko, Sons Of The East, Irish acts Lorraine Nash and Daoiri Farrell, Norway’s Gangar, Scotland’s Gnoss, Guatemalan artist Gaby Moreno, The Songbirds, the UK’s Sam Cole, and more. 

Following the initial festival announcement in September, another 17 artists were added to the line-up in October, including Judy Collins (from the US), Luka Bloom (from Ireland), Ralph McTell (from England) and the Sharon Shannon Big Band (again from Ireland).
