Andrew Swift Named Ambassador For 2024 Gympie Music Muster

Andrew Swift has been named as the official ambassador for the 2024 Gympie Music Muster.

The news was shared this morning (January 26) in a video message from Swift, who spoke of his longstanding affection for the region and festival. He also gushed in an accompanying statement that it’s “truly an honour” to be granted the title, saying he’s “so proud to be the ambassador for something that I love”.

He added: “I'm always telling people to go to Gympie and put it on their bucket lists. To be an ambassador for something I'm already passionate about, is an exciting moment... I've got friends who do the rope-off the month before and then commute to Brisbane for work. It caters to families as well as people who want to have a drink and have a good time; the Muster ticks all the boxes and I feel that’s what the festival does incredibly well.”

Swift also noted that he’ll be hanging out in the campsite across the full four-day stint: “Whenever I come up,” he said, “I make sure I camp because I love the whole vibe of it; camping means immersing yourself in it all.”

The excitement was shared by Greg Cavanagh – CEO of the Gympie Music Muster – who said in a statement of his own that he and his team are “thrilled to have an artist of Andrew's calibre represent [the festival]”. He added that Swift’s “genuine love for the event and his passion for sharing it with others make him a perfect fit for this role”.

Today’s announcement comes with the bonus bombshell that Swift will perform at this year’s Muster, joining the likes of James Johnston, Brad Cox, Amber Lawrence, Sara Berki, Richard Clapton, Pierce Brothers, Hussy Hicks and so many more. The first and second lots of artists were announced last September, followed by the third lot in December, and the fourth earlier this month.

The 2024 Gympie Music Muster will run over four days, from Thursday August 22 to Sunday 25, at the Amamoor State Forest (approximately 40 kilometres south-west of Gympie). Tickets are on sale now – head here to find them, and read all about what to expect from the festival.
