Amy Sheppard, country music darling and one-third of the Australian pop group Sheppard, has opened up about her and her husband, Lachie Stuart’s, journey with IVF.

“Lachie and I started our second round of IVF, and what that means for people who don’t know much about IVF is we are starting hormones, and it takes about two weeks, and then I’ll do an egg retrieval,” she told fans in a candid video posted to Instagram last week.

Sheppard continued, “That’s the only part we’re doing for now. We’re going to be putting our embryos on ice until a later date because I’ve got some more touring to do.”

The Coming Home singer then detailed the next stage of IVF, which involves another two weeks of hormones and implanting the embryo. As the family band continue to tour, Amy said the couple will embark on the next stage of IVF later this year.

“For now, we’re focusing on the egg retrieval,” she said. “Last time, it actually didn’t go so well. What happened was, I ended up ovulating before the egg retrieval, so this time, she swapped around my medication, so hopefully that doesn’t happen. That’s the reason I only got one embryo last time.”

Stuart added that the couple originally had five, but they lost four.

Sheppard didn’t end the video without hope. “This round is going to be better, and we’re going to get more embryos and more chances of a little bubba. Thank you for your well wishes.”

Revealing that she’s been reading messages from followers about her IVF journey, Sheppard concluded, “I’ve been reading all the DM’s that you guys are sending; I’m trying to get back to everyone.”

Sheppard has continued to share videos about her IVF and fertility journey on social media. We wish her and Stuart all the best as they try to have a baby.

Sheppard (the band) toured across Australia last October and November, playing to punters nationwide. The group recently wrapped up a European tour and will soon play for audiences in the US.
