Robbie MortimerLive Nation has just announced the first batch of artists who will perform on iconic stages across Australia and New Zealand as part of their newly launched initiative, Next On.
In case you missed it: Live Nation announced its new live music program in November, which supports developing artists by providing access and exposure to help them grow their careers.
Venues involved in the initiative are On The Stage at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre, Brisbane’s The Triffid and The Outpost at Fortitude Music Hall, Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre – King’s Room, Adelaide’s Divide at Hindley Street Music Hall, and the Tuning Fork in Auckland, New Zealand.

“Next On is about creating opportunities at the moments that matter most in an artist’s journey,” Michelle Lucia, Senior Vice President Product & Innovation at Live Nation APAC, explained. “These artists are ready for the room, ready for the audience, and ready for that next step. We’re proud to be backing them with the platform, support and momentum to help them take that next step.”
The just-announced artists have also commented on their upcoming appearances as part of the initiative.
“Being part of Next On feels like a real milestone for us,” Peach Fuzz said. “Getting the chance to play an iconic venue at a point where our live show and music are really coming into focus means so much to us. It feels like the right moment to step up, reach new people and grow as a band.”
MOHI added, “My songs were written to be shared live. Next On gives me the chance to bring my reo and my stories into an iconic room and let the music do what it’s meant to do. I’m really looking forward to connecting with people through that.”
Robbie Mortimer concluded, “Next On feels like a really significant moment for me. Playing a room like this allows the songs to be heard the way they were always meant to be.
“At the heart of it, I want people to be moved by the stories in the music and to feel a genuine connection in the room. I’ve been working toward moments like this for a long time, and I can’t wait to step on the stage and take everybody on the journey with me.”
