Hunter Valley artist Mackenzie Lee has recently shared her debut single, Let My Love Drown, and today, Countrytown premieres the music video.
Shot by Roaming Creatives – Tracy and Josh Beveridge at The Firs Barrington Tops in Moonan Brook, Lee has created an authentic country song in sound, spirit and look.
Like many of the greatest country songs, Let My Love Drown is a song about heartbreak and follows Lee as she asks for love to drown after a relationship comes to an end. The song was produced by Simon Johnson at Hillbilly Hut (who also played the bass) and features Brad Bergen on drums, Rod Motbey on guitars, and Glen Harrison on backing vocals.
Singing against epic trees and strumming her acoustic guitar as an electric guitar accompanies her song, Lee sounds far wiser, way stronger and more accomplished than any young singer has a right to be. You can watch the music video for Let My Love Drown below.
Lee released her debut single after a successful Tamworth Country Music Festival campaign and follows her two previous EPs. While she’s released other music in the past, this is her first formal single and music video.
Mackenzie Lee is a 2023 graduate of the CMAA Junior Academy and received mentorship from Crestway Productions’ Dave Carter.
