Tyla Rodrigues Announced As CCMA Presenter In Canada

Two weeks after it was announced that Tyla Rodrigues would lead the new pilot program, Canada-Australia Country Music Exchange, designed by the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA), Rodrigues has landed herself an impressive new gig.

This Saturday, 19 September, Rodrigues will be a presenter at the 2026 CCMA Awards. We don’t know which category she’ll present, or if she’ll be partnered with another musician, but it’s still a huge, epic moment for the rising Australian country artist.

This year’s CCMA Awards – the 44th edition – will take place at the Sasktel Centre on Saturday, 19 September. The ceremony will be available to watch live exclusively on CTV from 8 pm, and streamed on Crave.

James Barker Band, five-time nominees for this year’s ceremony, will host the CCMA Awards.

“We’re fired up to be hosting the CCMA Awards this year,” James Barker Band commented in a statement. “We’ve grown up watching this show and have been lucky enough to make so many great memories at the CCMAs over the years, so getting the chance to host and celebrate Canadian country music from the other side of the stage is pretty special.

“We’re excited to celebrate our friends, have some fun, and hopefully keep the whole thing on the rails. You never really know what could happen when you give the four of us microphones on live TV.”

When it was announced that Rodrigues would take part in the Canada-Australia Country Music Exchange alongside Canadian artist Jade Eagleson, it was confirmed that the pair would receive coordinated market development and in-market opportunities.

Rodrigues is expanding her presence in the Canadian market throughout this month with live performances, industry meetings, writing sessions, media engagements, and more. Her activities in Canada conclude with this year’s iteration of Country Music Week, taking place in Saskatoon this week.

“Canada has been a place I have always dreamt about visiting, so to have the opportunity to bring my music to Canadian audiences makes this that little bit more special,” Rodrigues said.

“I cannot wait to meet Canadian fans, play these songs live and experience the country for myself. It’s such an incredible opportunity, and I’m so grateful to be able to take my music across the world.”
