'Free' is out now!
Queensland based duo, Route 33, recently released their new single, Free. Written by Jock Barnes and Trent McArdle in celebration of Jock’s wedding to his wife, Bronte, Free is a beautiful, old school sounding track about taking in the little things and stopping to smell the roses.
The music video, which today premieres exclusively on Countrytown, chronicles Jock's wedding to his long-term partner in early 2022.
Jock says, "My life has always had two important parts, family and music. So, when the opportunity came up for us to put the two together, for such an important day, we jumped at it. I'm incredibly lucky to have something so special to commemorate our wedding.”
Free follows their 2021 singles Troublemaker, She Knows What She’s Doing and Quarter Past You.

Following their debut album, The Switch, they released Coro Drive in 2019. The album proved to be an outstanding collection of modern country-pop tracks, drawing influence from artists and genres that the pair grew up on. One listen and you feel that country music for Jock, and 90’s rock for Trent, resonating through the speakers.
The album raised the bar on the ARIA Australian Country Album Chart, seeing the band achieve a #1 chart position on release. The record attracted heavyweight industry names like Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus) for a duet, Mark Williams (Dragon) on backing vocals as well as musicians from Reba McEntire and Rascal Flatts bands rounding out an impressive release.
