Our festive Song of the Day is Carol of the Bells by the Hunter Brothers (aka one of our favourite country music discoveries of the year!)
It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and I don’t mean Christmas, I mean that magical month where we can blast holiday music and no one can judge us for it! Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love Christmas music all year round?! This December, we are going to be adding our Songs of the Day to our very special Countrytown Christmas Playlist, complete with re-imagined country-style holiday classics as well as what are sure to be new festive favourites!
Our festive Song of the Day is Carol of the Bells by Hunter Brothers (aka one of our favourite country music discoveries of the year … trying not to sound biased here).
The track is off their 2021 holiday album, Joy To The World which features classics such as What Child Is This?, O Holy Night, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas with country star Madeline Merlo. The album also features two brand new original songs What I See, co-written with their producer Seth Mosley and Open Road label mate Dustin Bird and Christmas Is Coming Again co-written by the brothers and Seth Mosley.
“This project is a very meaningful one as Christmas is one of the most special times for us as a family,” explains band frontman Ty Hunter, one of the five brothers (along with J.J., Dusty, Luke and Brock) in the popular hit-making group. “From mum’s cinnamon buns, to the chocolate fondue, candlelight service, and the general presence of joy and support of loved ones, it always seemed to have such a special magic in the air. We wanted to capture that feeling on this record, and ultimately sing about what is most meaningful to us. We are so grateful for our Saviour who came to provide hope to the world many years ago, and for the ability to sing about His love this season.”
