Zac & George Tease New Song 'Nothin' To Lose'

Sometimes Nashville-based Australian country music duo Zac & George are teasing their new single, Nothin’ To Lose, which hits streaming services on Friday, 1 September.

Sharing a 25-second teaser on social media, the pair wrote, “Who’s ready for more music?? ‘Nothin’ To Lose’ will be out on all streaming platforms Friday the 1st of September”. You can check your favourite streaming service from that day and trust that Nothin’ To Lose will feature in a Countrytown playlist.

Nothin’ To Lose follows Zac & George’s recent collaboration with fellow Aussie country artist James Johnston on Some Things Never Change.

Johnston teased the collaboration with Zac & George last month, inviting fans to join in a series of Instagram reels.

“I wanted to record and release it in a way I had never seen anyone do before,” Johnston said in a press release, taking the co-write with Zac & George and then getting them on board for the final recording.

Some Things Never Change was recorded in Nashville by Justin Wantz and mixed by Liam Quinn in Sydney. From there, the trio hosted late-night Zoom meetings to tinker with the song further so Johnston could really impress Zac & George with the new single. You can watch the music video here.

This November, Zac & George will feature on Australia’s newest country music festival, Ridin’ Hearts, in Melbourne and Sydney.

The inaugural festival will be headlined by Bailey Zimmerman and will also feature American heavyweights Danielle Bradbery, Sam Barber, Matt Schuster, Alana Springsteen and VAVO, as well as local favourites Zac & George, Seaforth and Sara Berki.

“This festival is a first of its kind, a unique opportunity to witness the domination of country music in Australia,” Chugg Music’s Michael Chugg said about Ridin’ Hearts in a press release. “We're thrilled to bring together a mix of established country artists and emerging talents, creating an unforgettable day of music, fun and authentic country experiences.”

In June, Zac & George hit the top five of the Countrytown Hot 50 with Sleep On It.
